Yes, "Protection from Everything" includes coloured spells, just like Emrakul, but also colourless.

Anything that does not target the creature would work, ie. card says target player must sacrifice a creature. Since the card does not target Progenitus, if the target player sacrifices it, then its gone to the graveyard. The way that works is the spell is targeting you the player/planeswalker and making you sacrifice your creature.

I totally agree that the mage would stop it, but doesnt "Protection from everything" also include colored spells like Emrakul, the Aeons Torn? and wouldnt "Protection from everything also include" sacrifice? cuz i think that if you can name something, it has protection from it... hence "Everything"...

You make a great point. All of those choices are highly affective against Progenitus.

Thanks for your feedback ;)

For those who aren't familiar with the above mentioned cards,

Of course, these cards would have to name Progenitus before it is put into play, otherwise his ability blocks the effect.

Land destruction would be something like

But that's just covering ways to kill Progen. Why not just used a Runed Halo, and name Progenitus - sure, the opponent gets a 10/10 Protection from Everything, but all it can do is sit there and block non-evasive creatures.

Or for the truly cruel (and because mono-blue doesn't seem to be covered here), use that old blue card Bribery. Afterall, why kill it when you can steal it?

Or an alternate means: use Cranial Extraction, or something similar to neuter the opponent (particularly someone who is relying on Progen as a Super-TImmy win-con.

And there's always the old stand-by for making the game boring for people who like big, fat, overcosted things: Land destruction. <3
