I was browsing Facebook this afternoon and came across a group that somebody had joined. There was a photo of a young woman dressed in a less-than-flattering fashion (or more than flattering, depending on your point of view 
). It took me a full 15 minutes to figure out what the hell the facebook group was about. Allow me to offer my confusion and perhaps pique your curiousity..
Group: Dr Steel UK Toy Soldiers
Description: This is a group dedicated to the UK army of Toy Soldiers. Join us in our quest to build a utopian playland for the enigmatic but deranged Dr Phineas Waldorf Steel as he tries to take over the world with robots, flying saucers and mind control cookies!
So yeah, it sounds fascinating, but WTF? It was labelled under “Music”, so I assumed it was a music group or artist of some type. When I visited the link at the bottom, however, I was even more confused – and even more fascinated. After watching through the amazingly well-done trailer on the main page, and following yet another link to Dr. Steel’s myspace, I was reassured. Now, I’m not really sure how to put my finger on what the music is. It’s kind of hip-hoppy, kind of dancy, and Wikipedia describes it as “music for steampunks”. All I know is… this is the strangest fascination that I’ve ever had.
