Did you know? Geek chics are ALL the rage! Many girls now look to express their inner nerd and prove their geeky worth. Of course, back in the day to be geek meant being a bottom feeder only worthy of helping you cheat on a test. Now, especially for the female, it is considered super hot! Guys consider a girl who appreciates the same interests as the average modern male as refreshing (since majority of modern males are gamers). Moreover, these female phenomenons have just as much potential to be a hottie as any other girl (if not more-so from the fact she shares interests with her man). Everyone wants one of these amazing women for their own. However, this new uprise of geek girls does not come without contention! There are many female geeks who feel that this surge in the population of their kind is actually an invasion of posers.
Gamers
“It wasn’t always like this,” complains a long-time FPS gamer from Europe, “It used to be the only gamer girls were the cream of the crop. We had to work for that respect. Now there’s these noobs that think they’re all that getting facerolled making us look bad.”
As it is many male gamers have trouble coming to terms with getting owned by a girl over the interwebs and will deny accepting she is a she. With this influx of new gamer girls, many are new to the whole ordeal of gaming. Everyone has to start somewhere. The way I see it, our legions are growing, and more and more of us are getting 1337 every day. If anything, maybe some girls are beginning to feel threatened because they’re becoming less of a rarity.
As for other categories of geek girls, more of us are openly embracing our geeky traits and loving it. Our overall ranks are growing. Convention goers, sci-fi debaters, LARPers, computer builders, programming lovers, gadget seekers, card players, action figure collectors, cosplayers, and hell! The list goes on! Us girls are making ourselves known.
My final point, for all those guys out there who love to stir up some controversy in-game about girls on the interwebs, yes we are and u know it. Jerk
